Cataract

Cataract Treatment

Cataracts are a common eye condition characterized by the clouding of the eye’s natural lens, leading to blurred or impaired vision. Most often associated with aging, cataracts can also result from injury, certain medications, or other medical conditions.

Treatment Options:

The primary treatment for cataracts is surgical removal of the cloudy lens, replaced with a clear artificial intraocular lens (IOL). This procedure, known as cataract surgery, is highly effective and typically performed on an outpatient basis. Modern techniques such as phacoemulsification use ultrasound waves to break up the lens, allowing for a minimally invasive procedure with a quick recovery time. Post-surgery, patients often experience significant improvement in vision quality. All surgeries at Elite Eye Hospital and Laser Centre are done with MICS (Micro Incision Cataract Surgery) with Phacoemulsification.
